H1N1 Vaccine

After researching and asking many questions, I decided today to vaccinate my toddler. I directly contacted Medimmune, the company that manufactures the H1N1 vaccine and spoke directly to their specialist. I was concerned about where the vaccine is made and discovered that part of it is made in England and shipped to the US and completed here in the States. Toddlers taking the intranasal will need a booster after 1 month and after approximately 1.5 months from the first dose your toddler will be completely protected. I also asked if their is a possibilty that taking the live viral intranasal vaccine- is their a chance of contracting H1N1 from the vaccine itself? The company states their are no cases to date where a patient contracted the actual virus from the vaccine. I also researched the side effects. Given my toddlers clean history I decided to go for it.
My toddler got diarrhea several times from our visit after the vaccine today but no fever.
I encourage you all to be active in your research and decisions. I was at first skeptical about this whole H1N1 scare given the bad publicity but then changed my mind after all my research.
Next year, the government should distribute these vaccines in the summer to take into account full protection from these changing viruses.
